Tax and Purchasing Tips
Your homesite will automatically be taxed at the 6% rate until you build and at that point, you will need to fill out the application for the 4% Special Assessment Ratio (owner-occupied property). Keep in mind, there are not as many lenders out there that will finance a homesite, but there are a few. If you need contact information for those lenders, please just let us know. Land loans typically require a larger down payment than traditional mortgages, often as much as 20% to 30% of the asking price.
